Campaigning in Surbiton Hill

Caroline has been campaigning in Surbiton Hill over recent weeks with John Ayles, the Liberal Democrat local candidate in the forthcoming by-election on 15th September.

Caroline Joined John and the local Lib Dem Team with Mike Tuffrey AM on Sunday 4th September, along with Lambeth councillors Ashley Lumsden and Roger Giess.

Campaigning in the Bush Hill Park by-election

Caroline Pidgeon AM joined local Liberal Democrats out campaigning in the Bush Hill Park by-election on 28th July.

Caroline joined Paul Smith the local Lib Dem candidate and other local Liberal Democrats working in the area, delivering leaflets and talking to local residents.

Out and about in Islington

Caroline Pidgeon AM has joined David Sant and Islington Liberal Democrats out and about in the St Peter’s ward by-election.

Caroline has been out campaigning with David Sant and London Assembly candidate Bridget Fox talking to local residents to hear the issues that they are concerned about in their area.

“It is quite clear that local residents want a strong local champion to represent them at the town hall. David Sant is a governor at North Community School and is the only candidate to live in the ward. He is just the person St Peter’s ward needs” commented Caroline.

Campaigning for Lisa Smart in Putney

Caroline Pidgeon AM was out in Putney on Saturday 18th June with by-election candidate Lisa Smart.

The local Lib Dem Team are campaigning hard against the Conservative Councils plans to charge children to use a play area in Battersea Park and want to ensure this does not get rolled out to all other parks in the Borough.

“It was really great to spend the day knocking on doors and talking to local people about the issues that matter to them” said Caroline Pidgeon. “Lisa has lived in Putney for 10 years and is a local school governor. She will be a strong champion for Putney on Wandsworth Council.”

Canons Ward action in Harrow

Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Lib Dems from across London out in Canons Ward in Harrow on Bank Holiday Monday. Joined by London Assembly candidates Marisha Ray and Shas Sheehan, as well as well known blogger Mark Pack, the team joined local Harrow members Laurence, John and Cllr Chris Noyce talking to residents in the area.

Darren Diamond is standing for the Lib Dems in the by-election and would make a really good councillor given his 12 years service at Stanburn School as a governor and his youth work with the scouts for nearly 20 years.

“It was good to go out and talk to local people about the real concerns including the terrible upgrade of the Jubilee line and the problem with disabled access at Stanmore station,” commented Caroline.

Assembly members unite to campaign for Fairer Votes

Caroline joined Assembly members from the Labour, Green and Conservative parties at City Hall to support a Yes vote in the referendum on the 5th May.

Labour’s Len Duvall AM, Andrew Boff AM a Conservative member, and Darren Johnson from the Greens, alongside Caroline for the Liberal Democrats are encouraging Londoners to vote yes for a better voting system to elect our MPs on 5th May. The system means voters get to show their preference for candidates and every MP will be elected with over 50% of votes.

Campaigning in Sutton on Fairer Votes and transport

Caroline was out and about in Sutton with Paul Burstow MP talking to residents about the Fairer Votes referendum and discussing local issues.

Caroline also took the opportunity to look at some local transport concerns with Paul Burstow MP and London Assembly Candidate Shas Sheehan.

"It was really interesting talking to local residents in Sutton to hear about local concerns. The overwhelming message was the need for a better voting system!" commented Caroline.
