Garden Bridge bidding process must be independently evaluated

As questions grow over the independence and objectivity of the bidding process for the Garden Bridge project, Caroline Pidgeon told the Guardian:

“As serious public money will be spent …it is vital that we have every confidence that the procurement process was carried out to the highest standards.

“Sadly, the whole issue has been muddled by the personal lobbying of Joanna Lumley and her close connections to both the mayor and the winning designer. The mayor should now agree to an independent evaluation of the bids submitted for the garden bridge.”
