Caroline joins Forest Hill campaigners against rail service cuts

Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Committee chair Caroline Pidgeon joined Lewisham Lib Dem councillors, and local campaigners from the Forest Hill Society, to present a petition to the Department for Transport calling for cuts to their train services to be reversed.

When the East London Line reopens in May 2010, services from the Sydenham branch to London Bridge will be reduced, making commuting tougher for Forest Hill residents. The campaigners are calling for capacity to be increased by providing more frequent services, through services to Charing Cross, and the introduction of longer 12-carriage trains.
