Crossrail: Londoners have a right to trust the people making decisions on their behalf and with their money

Caroline Pidgeon has expressed the continuing frustration of Londoners at the delays to the opening of Crossrail, and the poor and evasive communication around them.

After a meeting with the Mayor and the TfL Commissioner, Caroline said:

“It is very frustrating that despite a long meeting, with summonsed documents, the Mayor and the TfL commissioner speaking at length, we’re still far from understanding who knew what and when.

Nominate 100 women for Blue Plaques

London’s Blue Plaques are iconic, but they are deeply unrepresentative of our city.

The scheme, which has been running since 1866 and overseen by English Heritage, honours Londoners who have made a positive contribution in their field, communities and wider society.

But of the 943 plaques installed to date, only 14 per cent commemorate women.

As part of this centenary year, the London Assembly is seeking to submit 100 nominations of women worthy of a Blue Plaque.

Rising passenger numbers expose the foolishness of scrapping the RV1 bus route

New figures obtained from Transport for London reveal that passenger numbers for the RV1 bus route increased during the Summer and Autumn this year, undermining TfL’s justification for scrapping the bus route.

The figures have been obtained by Caroline Pidgeon, the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member and the chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee.
