Concerns about London's Inner North coroner
Caroline raised in the London Assembly widespread concerns about the bureaucratic and inflexible approach of the Inner North London coroner, and particularly the impact on bereaved Muslim and Jewish families.
Meeting Highgate community groups
Caroline had a productive meeting with the Highgate Society and other local community groups, along with the Mayor's cycling commissioner Will Norman, to discuss cycling routes and liveable neighbourhoods in Highgate and Archway.
Shocking figures reveal the true impact of moped crime in London
The increasing problem of crime committed by moped riders has been highlighted in figures obtained by the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Caroline Pidgeon.
Following her questioning of the Mayor, figures have been released showing that in just nine months there have been 17,606 ‘moped enabled’ crimes in London.
The figures reveal that moped raiders are affecting every London Borough, although the crimes at present are heavily dominant in Camden, Islington and Westminster.

Network Rail and TfL need to explain further disruption for Gospel Oak-Barking passengers
As Transport for London announced that the London Overground line between Gospel Oak and Barking will now reopen to passengers on Monday 27 February, but that the installation of all of the overhead wires has not been completed on time and more work is required, Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, criticised the way the work has been executed and communicated:
“The fault for these delays rests with some appalling errors made by Network Rail, who have many questions to now answer.
Campaigning in Camden
Caroline went out campaigning in Camden with the Lib Dem London Assembly candidate for the Barnet and Croydon constituency Zack Polanski. They visited the Swiss Cottage and Finchley Road areas to speak to local residents about the Mayoral and London Assembly elections. They received a warm reception on the doorstep.
Caroline pledges to tackle poor air quality in Camden
Caroline Pidgeon was out in the Euston Road area of Camden with Councillor Flick Rea, London Assembly Lib Dem candidate for Barnet and Camden Zack Polanski, and local activists. They were assessing the poor air quality and congestion in the local area. Caroline is passionate about improving London’s air quality.
Caroline said:
“Congestion is not just a huge inconvenience but also damaging to people’s health. It creates a huge economic bill for businesses due to delays, longer delivery times and staff arriving late for work
Now more than ever we need to face up to the implications of London’s growing population and that must mean using the Congestion Charge in a far smarter way.
Tackling London’s air pollution must also mean tough action against diesel vehicles. Using the Congestion Charge to deter diesel vehicles from central London in places like Camden could be a game changer in tackling air pollution in London.”
Mayor must now come clean over plans for Night Buses
Caroline Pidgeon AM, Liberal Democrat London Assembly transport spokesperson, commenting on the announcement that the launch of the Night Tube has been deferred, said:
"This is a big climb down for the Mayor. His retreat is entirely due to his error in setting a specific start date before all the staffing arrangements and other issues had been settled.
"By pushing for a set start date the Mayor strengthened the union’s negotiating position.
