A3 site visit in Kingston

Wednesday 9th December saw Caroline Pidgeon AM go to Tolworth in Kingston to meet with Transport for London officers and local councillor Thay Thayalan, along with former councillors Vicki Harris and Rolson Davies, to discuss serious concerns about the state of the A3 in the area.

The team walked along Hook Rise North and Hook Rise South and looked at the state of the road surface, serious problems with vibration from traffic and plans to resurface the road with improved materials to reduce noise and vibrations.

“It is quite clear that these works have slipped back and may now not take place until 2017/18 despite correspondence back in 2011 from TfL confirming they would resurface these areas. There are serious problems with pooling of water on pavements and a real deterioration in the road surface which TfL must deal with as soon as possible” said Caroline.
