Serious questions need to be asked about stop and search

On the BBC's London Politics, Caroline discussed her concerns about the police's use of stop and search, and the government's plans to increase it.

"Nearly half of Londoners don't have any confidence in our police force. When you're three times more likely as a black person to be stopped by the police than a white person, and yet they don't find weapons in the same way they do when they stop a white person: questions have to be asked.

"Enfield and Camden have seen a huge rise in the number of stop and searches, but actually we're not seeing a fall in knife crime.

"And the College of Policing have said, in a report last year, that there's no statistical evidence that shows that this helps improve crime prevention. So there are questions to be asked about how widely that tactic is now being used in the capital."
