Mayor's decision not to help outer Londoners is extraordinary

Caroline Pidgeon AM has criticised the Mayor for rejecting the London Assembly's motion calling on him to help outer Londoners with the impact of the Ultra Low Emission Zone by investing in bus services and expanding the car scrappage scheme.

Caroline said:

“I find it extraordinary for the Mayor to reject our amendment and choose to sit on huge reserves rather than help more Londoners scrap their polluting vehicles across the capital.

“Liberal Democrats will try again next week at the final budget meeting to expand the scrappage scheme and to fund more bus services in outer London. The Mayor needs to do far more to help people in outer London as he expands the Ulez this summer."
