Opposing the draconian Public Order Act

In the London Assembly, Caroline Pidgeon spoke out against the Conservatives draconian & anti-democratic Public Order Act and Labour's passive support for the legislation.

Caroline said:

The Conservatives' Public Order Act is a draconian, authoritarian and illiberal piece of legislation that has severe consequences for our democracy and our right to protest.

And as if the UK Government's actions are not worrying enough, we've seen troubling signs from the Labour Party. The Mayor won't advocate revoking this, neither will Keir Starmer, Lisa Nandy or David Lammy.

But the Liberal Democrats are clear this legislation is flawed and poses a direct risk to our democratic freedoms.
