On the BBC Politics London programme, Caroline Pidgeon discussed the over-reliance on charities to fill in the gaps in services left by the underfunding of local councils.
Caroline said:
"The Conservatives have hollowed out Local Government over recent years, leaving charities to pick up where the state is failing.
"If we are to fix the crisis in public services in this country, we need to properly fund local government."
