Lib Dems pass budget amendment to help Londoners get more energy efficient

The London Assembly has voted for an amendment proposed by the Liberal Democrats to allocate £700,000 from the Mayor's budget for a service to assist Londoners who want to reduce their carbon emissions and energy bills. The scheme would be similar to the "Green Doctors" service currently provided by the charity Groundwork, which has supported 18.000 Londoners in finding practical ways to reduce their energy use.

Caroline Pidgeon said:

"This amendment will help more Londoners get the help they need to live in warmer, more energy efficient accommodation, and to help our planet in what is one of the biggest challenges for our generation.

"This is the difference that electing Liberal Democrats to the London Assembly makes."
