Caroline met with residents from Ruston Mews, which backs onto Ladbroke Grove Tube Station, on Friday 10th July with local Lib Dem campaigner Carol Caruana. Residents have had a huge number of issues with the existing station, including loud announcements. However, with plans to increase the number of trains and lengthen the platforms, even more noise and general problems are feared.
Caroline raised a number of issues with London Underground and they have now started to listen. They have started the re-railing work to ensure the rails are improved and are now reconsidering the idea of an acoustic screen along the embankment behind the Mews to stop the existing and future predicted noise.
“I am delighted working with local residents and Carol Caruana we are making progress with London Underground. If LU wishes to improve the service at this station they must ensure that local residents do not have their lives disturbed virtually 24 hours a day as a result” commented Caroline Pidgeon AM.
