Working with Brent Liberal Democrats, Caroline Pidgeon has put pressure on the Mayor to investigate the worrying level of accidents on the 142 bus route which runs from Watford to Brent Cross along the Edgware Road.
Caroline's questioning at Mayor's Question Time revealed that on the route last year there were 51 accidents - almost an accident every week!
Brent Lib Dem Transport Spokesperson, Councillor Daniel Brown, said:
"It is very worrying that, according to the Mayor’s own figures, so many accidents have occurred on this route and it does it does seem a bit alarming that this bus route has an accident rate of 51 accidents which seems to much higher than any other bus route in London - by quite a margin. The 142 bus route seems to have the rather dubious record of the bus route with the most accidents, at 51 last year. That is basically an accident a week and London Buses need to explain why this has happened."
