Caroline supports campaign to save Downham fire station

Caroline recently visited Downham fire station to give her support to the local campaign by local residents and Liberal Democrats to save the fire station.

The fire station is situated in the south of Lewisham and serves people living in Bromley as well as Lewisham.

The campaign to save the fire station has already generated a petition signed by more than 4500 people.

Liberal Democrat London Assembly Members have consistently opposed the Mayor's plans to close Downham, New Cross and 10 other fire stations across London.

Full details of the plans to close 12 fire stations which the Mayor is forcing upon London's fire authority and how to take part in a consultation on these closures can be seen on the London Fire Brigade website.
