Campaigning in Bermondsey and Old Southwark

Caroline Pidgeon AM has spent most of the General Election campaigning for Simon Hughes MP in Bermondsey.

The reception on the doorstep has been really positive and lots of people have been out on the doors including Tim Farron MP and Liz Lynne former MEP and MP, as well as Baroness Sarah Ludford and our local Lib Dem Councillors and activists from across the capital and beyond.

Campaigning in Muswell Hill

Caroline joined Lynne Featherstone MP and a fantastic team in Hornsey including Baroness Northover, Stephen Knight AM, local councillors and Mike Tuffrey, Chair of the London region party, out on the doors in Muswell Hill on 22nd April.

It was fantastic to be out and about talking to lots of local residents and to hear first hand the difference Lynne has made in the area as a dynamic and first class MP" commented Caroline.

Out and about in Twickenham

Caroline Pidgeon AM joined her colleague Stephen Knight AM and other local Lib Dem campaigners in Twickenham to campaign to re-elect Vince Cable MP.

The team enjoyed a sunny day out on the streets in Hampton and had a good response on the doorstep.

"Vince is so respected as both a local MP and as a national political figure. It was lovely to talk to local people about their concerns and to get support for Vince" commented Caroline.

Campaigning for Ed Davey in Kingston

Caroline joined local activists in Kingston on Sunday 26th April to campaign to re-elect Ed Davey as their local MP.

Caroline joined Ed and other Lib Dems talking to local residents in Norbiton.

"There was huge support for Ed from the residents I spoke to. Ed has been a strong MP and championed local concerns that really affect local people's every day lives" commented Caroline.

Campaigning in Sutton

Caroline spent Saturday 25th April in Sutton campaigning for our two MPs Tom Brake and Paul Burstow.

Caroline joined teams in Wallington South in the morning for Tom and then out in Sutton West with Cllr Wendy Mathys in the afternoon.

"It was great to hear from local people about our hard working local MPs and the work they have done and continue to do to save St Helier's hospital." commented Caroline.

Out and about in Highgate

Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Lynne Featherstone MP, Cllr David Beacham and Haringey Liberal Democrats out on the doorstep in Highgate on Friday 20th February.

The team were talking to local people about a range of issues including housing, transport and the work Lynne Featherstone has done on equal marriage.

Out and about in Carshalton and Wallington

Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington, Cllr Callum Morton and Sutton Liberal Democrats out on the doorstep in The Wrythe ward on Friday 20th February.

The team were knocking on doors talking to local people about the Save St Helier campaign, getting signatures on the petition and explaining the latest with the review of several hospitals including St Helier.

Out on the doors in Kingston and Surbiton

Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Edward Davey MP, Cllr Liz Green and Kingston Liberal Democrats out on the doors talking to local residents on Friday 13th February.

Caroline also discussed with Edward Davey some local transport concerns including the potential impact of Crossrail 2 on local rail services.

"It was good to hear first hand some of the local transport issues and to talk to local residents about issues in their area" commented Caroline.

Victory for Twickenham residents as footbridge is saved

Caroline Pidgeon has congratulated Twickenham MP’s Vince Cable, Liberal Democrat ward councillors and local residents for ensuring that Transport for London have abandoned their plans to remove a footbridge over the A316 Chertsey Road.

When TfL’s plans were first announced last June they met with huge outrage.

However, after an extensive local campaign and a massive response from local residents to the TfL consultation, it has been decided to keep the bridge for at least two years.
