Caroline Pidgeon has urged the Mayor again to show the Thameslink route on the Tube map, to remind passengers of how useful it can be, as well as its excellent accessibility. Particularly important now is that the wide layout of the trains is suited to social distancing.

Caroline Pidgeon has written to the Met Police's Deputy Commissioner to ask for an update on issues around speeding in London during the COVID-19 lockdown and some long-standing concerns on speeding, as well as praising the Met for the quick action they have taken to try and tackle increased speeding since lockdown began.
Writing for the OnLondon website, Caroline Pidgeon highlights the risks that bus drivers face from the coronavirus - but also the long-standing issues they face with low pay, fatigue and poor working conditions.
Caroline talked to ITV News's Simon Harris about the importance of keeping our bus drivers and passengers safe during the coronavirus crisis.
Welcome further measures are being introduced to ensure that our brave and dedicated bus drivers are as safe as possible whilst carrying out their essential roles, but there is still more that can and must be done.
Launching the London Assembly Transport Committee's report into accessible and inclusive transport, Caroline Pidgeon said:
"Everyone should be able to access public transport and London’s streets easily, comfortably and confidently. Yet we know there are many barriers, visible and invisible, that exclude disabled people, older people and parents with children.
"This report sets out how we can start to tear down those barriers.
Caroline Pidgeon criticised the Department of Transport for refusing to release a report into the abandoned £48m Garden Bridge project, claiming the need to protect a management trust that no longer exists!
Caroline said:
"There was repeated secrecy around the project from day one.
“This is truly incredible. After so many years of poor decisionmaking, it seems that instead of wanting to learn lessons from this doomed project, the Department for Transport just want to defend the indefensible.”
As the Silvertown road tunnel project was revealed to have increased in cost by £200m compared to what Transport for London claimed in November, Caroline Pidgeon commented:
“Silvertown road tunnel is already turning out to be a hugely expensive construction project and I expect its financial cost will escalate even further.
