Working for Londoners through the COVID crisis

The last three months have been like no other period any of us can remember.

Caroline has continued to work hard as a London Assembly Member during this time. Here is an overview of some of the issues she has been raising since March.

Scrutinising the TfL bailout

Since the bailout for Transport for London was agreed, so many questions remain unanswered about its implications.

Here are just some of the questions that Caroline has been pursuing:

  • How are restrictions to the Freedom Pass by TfL even possible when it is both administered and funded by London Councils?
  • How will free travel for school children operate if, as proposed by Government, schools start to return after half term?

Bus safety measures are welcome, but more needs to be done

Caroline talked to ITV News's Simon Harris about the importance of keeping our bus drivers and passengers safe during the coronavirus crisis.

Welcome further measures are being introduced to ensure that our brave and dedicated bus drivers are as safe as possible whilst carrying out their essential roles, but there is still more that can and must be done.

Making accessible and inclusive London transport a reality

Launching the London Assembly Transport Committee's report into accessible and inclusive transport, Caroline Pidgeon said:

"Everyone should be able to access public transport and London’s streets easily, comfortably and confidently. Yet we know there are many barriers, visible and invisible, that exclude disabled people, older people and parents with children.

"This report sets out how we can start to tear down those barriers.
